PET VACCINATIONS

Vaccinations are an important part of preventative care for your pet. Our veterinarians recommend that healthy adult dogs and cats visit us once a year for their annual exam and vaccinations. Puppies, kittens, senior pets, and pets with health issues or illness require more frequent check ups.  See our vaccination standards of care below.  Please speak to your veterinarian with any questions or concerns.

Vaccination series are recommendations. The doctor will tailor the plan to each pet’s specific needs.

  • DHLPP (Distemper, Adenovirus [hepatitis], Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus)
  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
  • Rabies (1 year or 3 Year)
  • Fecal Exam

To ensure the newest member of your family stays protected against parasites and diseases, it is important to get them vaccinated properly when they are puppies.  Our puppy vaccination series is designed to help get your pet started on the right path to a long and healthy life.  Timely prevention is key to a healthy adulthood!

During your puppies vaccination series it is vital to keep them away from public areas or unvaccinated pets.  Parvovirus is highly contagious and can live on surfaces for years.  When visiting our clinic make sure to bring a puppy pad or ask our front desk for help. Keep your pet in your lap or carrier at all times. Although we disinfect throughout each day there is a higher risk of infection until vaccinations are complete.

After receiving all four sets of vaccinations, they are considered vaccinated for a full year. Continued monthly preventions for heartworm and flea/tick year-round is key to preventing parasitic infections.

You can prevent or lessen the severity of illness with complete vaccination as recommended by our veterinarians.
