McLendon Veterinary Clinic is always accepting applications for part-time or full-time Veterinary Technician, Client Care Receptionists, and Kennel Staff to supplement our busy walk-in clinic.

We are a three doctor small animal clinic looking for exceptional candidates to add to our close-knit family. We are a fast-paced full-service veterinary clinic providing surgery, radiology, ultrasound, in-house diagnostic laboratory, boarding, and various basic veterinary needs.

Our staff is cross-trained in most areas including kennel where we all have the very important job of caring for our client’s animals.  We have a close relationship with our clients, so we look for exceptional candidates to aid in providing loving care for their pets.

Vet Technicians

Skilled in animal restraint, blood draws, and IV catheter placement are preferred. Other desired skills include the ability to read intestinal parasite screens, operate laboratory equipment, and assist with radiology.  Good communication skills are vital to ensure proper treatment during a pet’s visit and being able to help at the front desk.  Vet techs are cross-trained to work at the front desk during peak times or to cover necessary shifts.  They also play a major role in assisting kennel staff in caring for and cleaning up after pets as needed during office hours and on the weekend shifts.  Prior experience and familiarity with AVImark software are preferred.

Client Care Receptionists

Will need to be skilled in answering phones, multi-tasking, checking in patients, and scheduling surgery and boarding appointments. Exceptional communication skills and customer service are important skills to have in this field and make busy days flow smoothly.  Receptionists may also assist kennel staff in caring for and cleaning up after pets as needed during office hours and on weekend shifts.  Prior experience and familiarity with AVImark software are preferred.

Kennel Staff

Will need to have a passion for animal care and well-being.  They have the important job of making sure our client’s pets are well cared for and maintain a clean environment throughout their stay with us.  If you are looking to get into the animal field this is a great place to start and move up through our company.  Dr. Collins knew he wanted to be a veterinarian and spent his middle and high school summers in this position to better understand the business.  The foundation begins here.

Pre-Vet Assistant

The Pre-Vet Assistant position is filled by pre-veterinary students in order to provide assistance to our DVMs and trained technicians. This position provides an opportunity to see the internal workings of a clinic and build an important knowledge base for your future career. As a pre-vet assistant you will have the opportunity to witness animal behavior, practice animal restraint, care for kennels, learn cleaning protocol, increase customer services skills, and become familiar with AVImark. Pre-vet students are vital to our clinic by supporting each department in any way necessary. Compassion, positivity, and enthusiasm to learn are essential skills for all pre-vet assistants. Throughout your role in our clinic you will be assigned areas based on the clinic’s needs at that time. Having an open mindset will grow our culture to its fullest potential. If you have a specific area or skill you would like to learn we encourage you to express that to our doctors, and we will do our best to work it into your schedule.

Ideal candidates will be honest, friendly, able to work in a fast-paced environment, team players, and eager to learn and grow.  Please download the application below and mail it or drop it off with your own resume during business hours.
