Dr. Collins grew up with a passion for animals. He started cleaning cages in high school at his small-town veterinary hospital and knew he wanted to be a veterinarian. Growing up a strong Alabama fan he was so dedicated to achieving his dream that he did the forsaken and enrolled at Auburn University! His drive to get a spot in veterinary school was so strong that he graduated undergrad only after 3 years and received early acceptance into the Auburn Veterinary School of Medicine in 2007. He graduated veterinary school after passing his boards in 2011 and began working in Montgomery, AL.
Eager to achieve his goal of becoming an owner he continued his search, which landed him in Tuscaloosa in 2013. He worked at a local veterinary office for a few years before taking ownership of McLendon Veterinary Clinic in 2017. Dr. Collins feels blessed to have found such a caring and family-oriented clinic to carry on his passions and follow in Dr. McLendon’s footsteps. Dr. Collins enjoys working in a profession where he can continue to challenge himself on a daily basis. He has a special interest in Surgery, Endocrinology, and Ultrasound. Dr. Collins spends his time away from the clinic with his wife and “human” kids or enjoying Alabama football. Dr. Collins recently lost his loving pet Chloe (a beautiful Siberian Husky).
